On Sunday, September 17th, the UICA Youth Committee hosted its first ever Sunnah Sundae gathering. Youth ages 13+ were invited to enjoy ice cream sundaes on the sunny sunday morning followed by an engaging discussion about a famous hadith by our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW. The event began with all the youth praying Dhuhr prayer in jamaah in the masjid MashaAllah.
Youth Committee Leaders managed the lovely ice cream sundae station that had a variety of flavors and toppings before the hadith talk started. The hadith that was discussed was regarding the golden rule in islam, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said :”None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.” The youth discussed how important it is as Muslims to not be selfish and how to deal with jealousy and greed. Many experiences and stories were shared as well as reflections from the Quran from youth committee leaders.
