UICA’s Endeavors and Services During Ramadan 2025
“Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.” – Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
This past Ramadan, UICA was blessed to be a hub of worship, learning, and heartfelt service. From the first night of fasting to the joyous celebration of Eid, our center pulsed with the energy of a devoted and generous community.
We were honored to host Shaykh Ali Khalil, a visiting scholar from Egypt, whose presence elevated our nights with spiritual warmth and guidance. He led the Tarawih prayers and offered insightful lectures on Islamic law and the importance of strong social ties—nourishing both minds and souls.
Our gratitude goes out to the many families and community members who sponsored weekly Iftar dinners from Thursday to Sunday and throughout the last ten nights of Ramadan.
UICA held four major fundraisers and humanitarian appeals—one for our center, one for our school, Greenway Academy, one for the suffering innocent people of Gaza, and another for SAHARA, a local charitable organization that provides shelter for Muslim women and free healthcare. We were honored to witness the conversion of sister Hailey and Milena to Islam, and we stood in extra nightly prayers seeking Allah’s mercy during the last 10 nights of Ramadan.
Among the highlights of this blessed month was witnessing a sister embrace Islam, a moment that reminded us of the transformative power of faith. The entire Qur’an was completed in Tarawih and before Maghrib prayers, and our community came together in heartfelt qiyam during the last ten nights, seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
Our youth were active and inspired, participating in meaningful gatherings that deepened their connection to their faith. We also hosted a Qur’an competition with nearly 30 students from our weekend and full-time schools, celebrating their efforts and love for the Book of Allah.
In the spirit of Eid, UICA distributed gifts to local refugee families, and thanks to your continued support, Zakat al-Mal and Zakat al-Fitr reached hundreds of local families in need. Our leadership also made visits to other Islamic centers across Phoenix, strengthening bonds of unity and collaboration within the wider Muslim community.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our volunteers, leaders, and donors. We are truly blessed to have a community that gives, serves, and uplifts.
As we move forward, UICA invites you to stay engaged and connected—so that the seeds planted this Ramadan may continue to grow and benefit many more, God willing.
